Dr Liou was born and raised in Connecticut. She attended the College of Holy Cross in Massachusetts where she received a BA degree in Biology. Her M.D. Degree was received from George Washington University in Washington, DC. She did her pediatric residency training at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh in Pennslvania. Dr. Liou moved to Utah in 1990 where she resides with her husband, Dr. Ted Liou, a pulmonary and critical care physician at the University of Utah. They have four children. In her free time, Dr. Liou enjoys cooking, reading, and traveling.
